The Department of Product Design deals with the design of various products, ranging from sundry goods, interiors, lighting and cars. Product design is constantly changing along with social environmental changes. While specialized fields have become sophisticated, establishment of new cross-disciplinary relations is becoming imperative. The department therefore offers an interdisciplinary curriculum covering three fields: Industrial Design, from the perspective of manufacturing directly linked with industry; Interior Design, from the perspective of total spatial configuration; and Universal Design, which lays a common foundation for thinking across the fields.
