Students in the Department of Visual Design gain professional knowledge and techniques of visual design in order to master expressive and creative design. All students intensively study essential skills for computer operations, a necessity in the field of visual design today, to respond flexibly to social trends with their skills in computer- based work. Students can also study hand- painted design work to present original illustrations and picture books. In their first year students learn fundamental knowledge and skills. After improving their power of expression in their interested fields in their second year, they select one of four courses in their third year. Faculty members, all prominent members of the design field, offer instruction tailor-made for each student’s individual style and personality.
