

Based on the university’s philosophy of “Arts and Design,” the Division trains creative researchers with proven research and development capabilities, as well as university professors with a strong aptitude for teaching and research, through academic activities in pursuit of arts and design. The Division has so far produced 40 doctoral degree holders (in Arts and Design).
Through design research and creation, the Division seeks to enhance the sensitive creativity, expressive skills and professional knowledge of designers and creators who can develop and integrate practical ideas and strategies.
The Division aims to nurture artists and creators who can exhibit a strong sense of integrity and originality, with established individual expressions and techniques enabled by state-of-the-art IT and media, while also using sophisticated expertise rooted in traditional arts and culture.
