The methodology of design application is the basis of integrated design. This course explains the role of the methodology in bridging the gap between the results of the
academic approach to design and the comprehensive design environment of our changing society. Study of this methodology leads to recognition of the frames of specific design, fashion and textile design, and product design. In other words, students come to understand the extent and limits of each area, and this gives them the foundation for studying integrated design.

Methodology of Design
OGURA Shigetaro, AZUMA Masumi and others
2nd sem. 2-u. Sel.

2nd sem. 2-u. Sel.
This class will focus on contemporary designs and themes employed by architects when designing houses.
This course will include:
-The development of housing design in Japan
-The openness of housing and community

Machinery Design
TADA Narumi, SAGARA Jiro, AIZAWA Takashi
2nd sem. 2-u. Sel.
In this course learning is project-based and arranged to induce students to a consider a wide variety of things relating to social life and machinery, use-interface, corporate
philosophy and product identity, and products and the environment.

Study of Interior Design
AKAMATSU Takehiro, HIRAKAWA Yoshihiro, OTA Syosaku
1st sem. 2-u. Sel.
In interior design, not only is the interior of a house designed but also the entire lifestyle of the inhabitants. Students will participate in discussion n interior design in order to cultivate their sensibilities.

Design of Fashion Environment
SASAKI Hiromu, MITERA Sadako
2nd sem. 2-u. Sel.
Through study of our living environment, this course imparts an understanding of the relationship between people, apparel and environment from the total view of fashion design. Also studied will be design planning and the construction of design in our future lifestyle.

Space Design with Textile
MATSUMOTO Mihoko, TOYAZAKI Mitsuo
2nd sem. 2-u. Sel.
"Cloth"not only makes clothes but also has the purpose of covering, wrapping, hanging, putting up or sewing up space. This class uses such special characteristics of "cloth"and proposes experimental ways for designing space with modern textiles.

Advanced Seminar on Media and Design
KOBAYASHI Kazuo, MORISHITA Akihiko,
SASATANI Teruo
2nd sem. 2-u. Sel.
Research and Work in Poster Design.
The poster, as one of various types of media design in the field of visual communication design, is still very important. Progress and expression in poster design reproduction technology is making for a diversity of high quality. Such poster design will be studied and students will create their own work of art.

Design and Media
