Department of Fashion and Textile Design

In the department of Fashion and Textile Design, the most important aims of the curriculum is to create designers who can propose people not only the visible form of the apparel as sign but the life-style composed of wearing, eating, living and enjoying. To gain the ability of understanding the essentials of the human activities, the curriculum is made up of the subjects relating three main study fields.
1) Apparel; Apparel is the fundamental item for the human being to live as "Human being".
Subjects relating to apparel are making plans on the apparel marketing, researching fashion trends, designing apparel, learning techniques of solid cutting and making clothes.
2) Textile; Textile is the most basic element in our daily life. To understand the textile, students should have the knowledge of the materials and colors and also should learn the techniques of weaving, knitting and dying.
3) Fashion Planning; To read the fashion trends, we need to see fashion as information. Through analyzing fashion trends as the basic information with the knowledge of human biology and psychology, students can gain the ability of making image of proposing fashion and putting it in practice.
The characteristic which is common to the three study fields is developing the students' ability of researching and doing presentation as well as planning and making proposals through practical subjects, besides brushing up their techniques and sensibilities which are required to be a designer.
