1. Eligibility
Applicants for admission must be foreign nationals who have completed 12 years education, or its equivalent, which is approved by the educational authority in their country.

2. Application Procedures
The following items must be submitted to the Admission Office, accompanied with the entrance examination fee of 35,000 yen. Please use the enclosed bank remittance note to pay the entrance examination fee. If documents 3, 4 and 5, are not written in Japanese, please attach the translation in Japanese.

1. Completed application form in Japanese
2. Completed personal history in Japanese
3. Proof of Japanese language proficiency
4. Official graduation or prospective graduation certificate of the school last attended, or proof of qualifications to pursue university level education
5. Official academic transcript of the school last attended
6. Letter in Japanese describing why you choose Kobe Design University
7. 4x3 cm size photo taken in the last 3months
8. Copy of passport or a letter of identification issued by the government
   If the applicant is residing in Japan, his/her Certificate of Alien Registration
9. Two self-addressed envelopes

3. Selection Criteria
The entrance examination will be held at Kobe Design University. All applicants will be notified of the specific time and place for the entrance examination in which applicants demonstrate visual awareness, technical skill and creativity. Selection will be made on the basis of an applicant's previous academic records and the results of the entrance examination and individual interviews by the members of the board. All applicants will be notified of selection results by mail (see 6 Schedule).

4. Tuition and Fees (for 2009)

Kobe Design University offers the system that the tuition fee for self-financed international students can be exempted.

These fees do not include the personal expenses for trips, books, and materials.

5. Entrance Procedures
-Information relating to entrance procedures will be sent to successful candidates.
-Applicants who are admitted to Kobe Design University must register and pay an entrance fee.

7. Notice
-Applicants residing outside Japan should contact the Admission Office regarding the examination procedure.
-All lectures are conducted in Japanese only.
-There are Japanese language courses for foreign students and tutoring by Japanese students is available.
-Kobe Design University has no dormitory.
-The Academic year starts in April.
